Thank you for the hugs in the street, the letters, the reviews, the notes under my door, the phone calls.
My motive for writing this book was not fame or monetary gain. It was to touch people and to make people laugh, to showcase our amazing Australian culture and most of all to let people know that times of hardship are normal, and that victory comes.
Thank you for all the comments: 'I nearly fell out of bed laughing' ; 'It released a deep grief I had been holding onto for years' ; 'I felt like I was living it too' ; 'Joy often opened up for me in unexpected places' ; 'I haven't read a book since primary school but I couldn't put it down' ; and even the long stares and the 'I can't believe you wrote this, you truly have a gift.'
We all of us have talents; all of us have unique qualities that no one else on this planet has. My encouragement to you all is to pursue your heart, follow your desires, find your own kite and learn how to fly.
If I can do it, so can you.
